Merida Studio is a New England-based designer and manufacturer of luxury rugs. Their creations reflect a globally inspired design and proudly American made heritage. Merida tasked us with completely revamping their website. They wanted specifically to leverage the benefits of the Shopify platform.

Merida Studio’s idea was to use Shopify’s platform to build its online catalogue, giving approved designers the ability to “shop” the site for samples to be used in client presentations, and to help to plan their commercial and residential design projects.

We launched a bespoke designed and developed website that pushed Shopify’s functionality in many innovative ways. We used the platform’s blog functionality to create inventive ways of presenting information - showcasing designers, and their respective collections. These pages feature products from Merida Studio collections, as well as a look-book style gallery to provide clients with an engaging visual presentation of Merida design process and installations.

Product pages were used to highlight the intricate details of each product and provide informative downloadable tear-sheets. Approved design account customers can order samples, or add samples to their projects via a wish list function. The site also utilizes a simple filter which allows the designer to cull through the extensive line of products to find exactly the sample that meets their specific design needs.

User Experience

Importantly, realizing that these designers conducted most of their business on site and while on-the-go, we utilized a mobile-first approach and created a site that was just as flawless in its user-experience on mobile as its desktop counterpart.
